What About Our Selection? Gluten-free eating can be like navigating through a dietary minefield, because so many processed foods contain gluten, and so many food labels do not say whether gluten was used in their preparation. That's why we specialize in offering only gluten-free products, to make sure you are completely safe from any contamination. For some people, even the tiniest trace of gluten can trigger a nasty reaction, and in all others it continues to cause damage to their small intestine. Unfortunately, we have found that most people with Celiac Disease or any level of gluten intolerance or wheat allergies are highly dissatisfied with the selection of gluten-free foods offered at their local health food store. This is because most gluten-free foods are manufactured from small, family-operated companies, so that many people on the East Coast do not get much exposure to gluten-free foods produced on the West Coast, and vice versa. Further, many of the most recognized gluten-free manufacturers operate in Canada and Europe, limiting their presence in local health food stores in the United States. Also, for those who shop on the Internet, many gluten-free sites do not accept online ordering or offer shipping options, which means that customers must either take the extra time to call or mail in their orders. In addition, many customers are disappointed that they have to pay extra shipping charges by placing independent orders with several different companies - they never know when their products will arrive and they pay shipping charges for each individual order. |
